Houston and Thornton is a family firm which was established in 1976 by Ken Houston and Wilson Thornton.

Wilson retired in April 1983. Ken continued trading as sole owner until he was joined as a partner by his son Geoffrey in 1997, who joined the firm in 1985.

Ken retired from the business in January 2010, after 34 years in charge, handing over the firm to his son.

Geoffrey is assisted in the day to day running of the workforce by his wife Jo-Ann as office controller, and Derek Houston as works manager.
